Crete Renewable Energy Valley video now out
The Greek Island of Crete is preparing to become one of Europe's first Renewable Energy Valleys, implementing a range of green energy solutions and diversifying supply. As with all islands, achieving energy autonomy on Crete is a challenge; making it renewable is even more difficult.
In the Crete Valley project video, the narrator of this change is energy – central yet invisible – just like in our daily lives.
The project will contribute to Europe's green transition thanks to four Community Energy Labs (CEL) across Crete. These will combine ICT and interoperable digital solutions with social engagement processes and economically viable business models. Conceived as innovation hubs, each CEL will rely on different renewable sources and involve local communities.
Watch the video to learn how Crete Valley is accelerating the green energy transition of the island.
