BEEYONDERS launches survey on the role of innovative technologies in advancing gender inclusion in construction
Construction workers, particularly women, are invited to share their experiences with workplace challenges and the role of EU-funded project innovations in addressing them.
As part of the Tech4EU Construction Cluster, the BEEYONDERS project has launched a survey to gather insights into the barriers and obstacles faced by construction workers. The survey aims to assess how technologies developed by cluster projects can contribute to greater gender inclusion and well-being in the sector.
The survey is intended for individuals currently working in the field or those entering the sector through specialised training or academic pathways. The goal is to ensure that at least 70% of the responses (approximately 200 in total) come from individuals assigned female at birth or those who identify as women. This will provide a representative sample of workers, offering a clearer understanding of their perspectives on gender balance in the sector.
The results will contribute to a comprehensive report presented to the European Commission as part of the BEEYONDERS project outcomes. Eva Martinez Cruz, Social Innovation Expert at ICONS and lead researcher for this initiative, emphasized its significance: "This research is essential for evaluating the impact and social acceptance of new technologies developed by EU-funded projects within the cluster. It is expected to serve as a foundation for further studies on gender inclusion in the construction industry, driving long-term, evidence-based progress".
The survey is being carried out in collaboration with the InCUBE, RoBétArmé, and HumanTech projects. These organisations are using their extensive networks in the construction sector, including project consortia and pilot sites, to distribute it. The survey is available in 10 different languages, can be accessed from both PC and smartphones, and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Construction workers are encouraged to participate in this important survey and share their insights, helping shape a more inclusive and innovative future for the industry.
